First TPLO Surgery Done!

We did it! Chevy's first TPLO surgery is done and he is resting at home now. He did great at the Vet even stayed over night! He did get a little cranky about being in a kennel and decided to rip apart his soft cone early this morning. But besides that he is amazing! Chevy even walked out of the vet already putting a little weight on the leg that was just operated on! He was very excited to see us and get home. I carried my 90lb puppy up the stairs when we got home. He didn't know what to think of being in the recovery area he kept crying... So I (being the huge suck that I am) crawled in his recovery pin with him and he fell asleep in 5 min. Good thing I brought my laptop because I'm kinda stuck now. Here are some picts of the surgery and coming home. On The Table

Surgery Donations

My poor baby has been through a lot... He survived death row in Reno NV... He endured a year of torture that nearly killed him and now he has one more hurdle to overcome. He has a fully torn ACL in his right knee and a partially torn ACL in his left. The surgery he needs is called a TPLO it costs approximately $3000 per knee. We are very grateful for any and all donations.

Thank you soooo much.

Love
Chevy & Leasha

2.5 Hour Hike

So we went for a nice long hike in the mountains today. It was soooo nice Chevy loved it! I took so many amazing picts.
It's nice because we can go off leash for hours and not run into anyone... Almost. At the end of the walk we saw a retriever ahead of us, Chevy's tail went up wanting to go meet him, I yelled "Chevy Come" in my best man voice I could come up with. After Chevy thought about it for a sec he came to me instead of the dog. My knees were shaking in fear. I'm not scared if the other dog or Chevy but when both dogs are off leash I'm terrified. After breaking up the dog fight the other day and Chevy getting hurt and me getting bit twice. I'm now really nervous in of leash situations... I know Chevy is over it and just want's to pay like a happy puppy. But I'm nervous... What I do? I'm gonna get training for Chevy but will that make me more confortable in these situations?? I don't wanna be the nervous Mommy... Fingers crossed training will help both of us.

Dinosaur Bone?

I don't know if this is a dinosaur bone or what... But Chevy LOVES IT! I tried giving him bones before and he actually ate pieces of the bone! Needless to say he wasent feeling so good the next day. So I have been hesitant to give him bones. Until I found this! Its massive! I don't think even Chevy can chew through this one... But I'm keeping an eye on him anyway.

Scuffle On The Morning Walk

So not the best walk ever, we ran into a friends dog...  They have meet before but it didn't go well...  This was their 3rd meeting and it turned in to a dog fight.  Not fun at all.  Chevy has a puncture wound under his jaw and lots of scratches.  I took him to the vet and they gave me some meds and the good news is he dosen't need stitches!  Yippy!
I also have a puncture wound on my leg and I got bit on the back of my arm.  But it didn't break the skin on my arm.  So note... When dogs are fighting DO NOT STICK SQUISHY LIMBS BETWEEN POWERFUL BITTING TEETH!  It hurts!!  I couldn't even tell you which dog bit me I put my knee right between the 2 of them... and quickly learned I'm not super woman and my legs are not actually made of steel!
Lucky for me my boss man let me go home so I could take care of Chevy.

Chevy's boo boo & mine.

Not the best way to start the day... Chevy already shook it off... Now it's Momma's turn...

Thick Skin... I'm Still Working on it.

So today I was just threatened by a woman saying she was going to report me because she was scared of my dog. Chevy was harnessed in my car with the windows rolled down and she parked next to me! She said I should roll the windows up so he wouldn't scare people. My response was "yeah that's a great idea on a sunny day in a black car!". Along with some other choice words I had for her. Lady if ignorance is bliss... You must be the happiest twit out there!
I know when I got a bully breed people said be prepared for ignorant and stupid people and most days I'm ok with it... Just not today my mouth got the best of me and I'm not gonna lie... IT FELT GREAT!
